Prosys OPC UA Forge
With OPC UA Forge from our partner ProsysOPC you can normalize and harmonize your data from various industrial data sources and re-structure it as an enterprise-level Unified Namespace, conforming to established OPC UA standards.
We offer OPC UA Forge as a standalone product as well as integrated with our other products as shown in the diagram below. Note that using this setup you can securely monitor and configure all components from anywhere with access to the Internet, using the Remote Management platform.
The integrated setup includes the components listed below.
- To run any application, an industrial-grade computer is required. For that, we offer oBox IIoT Gateway, an industrial PC intended to run IIoT Edge applications like OPC UA Forge.
- If our data is not available over OPC UA interface, then we offer to use DeviceGateway from our other technology partner Takebishi. With DeviceGateway you can connect to almost 300 industrial data sources such as PLC, RTU, CNC, etc.
- With OPC UA Forge, all data from various sources is aggregated into Unified Namespace. From here your data can flow in different directions.
- Using our ogamma Visual Logger for OPC, it takes only minutes to connect to any OPC UA Server, including OPC UA Forge, discover address space, map OPC UA metadata to the format understandable by the destination (for example MQTT topics), and start forwarding data to one of the following destinations:
- SQL database. Can be SQLite, MS SQL, TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- InfluxDB. All versions are supported
- Confluent / Apache Kafka
- MQTT Broker. With MQTT, data can be published to all major cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Broker, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Watson IoT Platform.
With OPC UA Forge, aggregated data from Unified Namespace can be accessed by any OPC UA client: SCADA, MES to name a few.
- With an additional History Module, OPC UA Forge can store real-time data in the popular time-series database InfluxDB, and then present that data over OPC UA History Access interface.
- Over OpenAPI-compliant REST endpoint can be accessed by third-party applications like ERP systems.

More technical details.
The rest of this page provides more details about OPC UA Forge in the context of using it as a standalone application.
Connect, Harmonize, Publish
Use Prosys OPC UA Forge to connect to OPC UA servers and access operational data from sensors, devices, machines, and automation systems. Harmonize data using information modeling and normalization, and publish your data to MES, ERP, IoT, and other IT systems using OPC UA.
Single Point of Access
Having all your data behind a single point of access enables tighter firewall rules and better network control, simplifying your system architecture and significantly improving security. Once configured, Prosys OPC UA Forge is your secure gateway for accessing OT data of all underlying servers.
Effective Onboarding and Reconfiguration
The growing number of hardware and software items from different vendors in production processes requires new solutions to organize your data. Prosys OPC UA Forge enables a straightforward on-boarding and reconfiguration of IT systems and production equipment, as well as easy scaling to multiple production sites.
Information Modeling and Data Harmonization
Browse the underlying address spaces of all connected servers and select the data you want to harmonize and publish. Easy-to-use operations such as rename, scale, and offset assist you in achieving your goals. Modeling tools enable mapping and organizing underlying data into information models based on industry standards.
Unified Address Space
Once configured, the unified address space exposes underlying data from all the connected data sources, according to your naming and structuring principles. This result streamlines OT data acquisition for IT systems, providing information in the most suitable and standard way.
Run on Any Platform
Prosys OPC UA Forge utilizes our cross-platform OPC UA components and technology, enabling deployments on virtually any hardware and operating system, including container systems such as Docker. Depending on your specific needs, you can choose between a pre-packaged containerized version or an operating system-specific installation.Address Space Once configured, the unified address space exposes underlying data from all the connected data sources, according to your naming and structuring principles.
